Northy

Hi from the UK!
Bonjour de grande bretagne

je suis intéressé par la navigation en vent lèger (principe AHD Seal & Sea Lion) qui semble être trés populaire chez les Froggys, ce qui n'est pas le cas chez nous les Roast Beefs.
Can you someone give me a report on how they compare?
Pouvez vous me transmettre un rapport sur ces planches pour les comparer?
Many Thanks!

Mais heu!!

More seriously

Seal Lion = :bigups:
In light wind conditions : very amazing board and you can use it like a SUP.

I try this board, more technical, more "reactive in turn"

In planning conditions, i prefer change of board because not easy without footstraps... and it's a big board

Have you think about the Kona mini tanker from Exocet?

Some people here rides with it in light.

It's not the same program but more fun

+1 on the mini tanker but it depends on what strong of wind you will sail :
- more often between 0/8 knots -> sea lion, it's incredible you are in a surf world, just helped with your sail for taking waves

- more often 4/12 knots and more ( for me ( 1m76 and 74 Kg) -> high limit seems to be about 15 knots, just time to change for my twinser ;) ) -> kona minitanker...
To have an idea of what it makes to sail in 4/6 knots with the kona -> http://www.vimeo.com/3032106 ( last saturday, me with my kona and a Naish boxer 5,8)
And forgive me for my english, school is a little bit far away for me :)

Rumors say that the AHD Sealion is being a best seller in Maui ...

Riders and shop keeper are amazed by the board ... and this time revolution is not born in Hawaii but in Europe...

An other trend for 2010 : some big brand will turn to tri fin for waveriding :)

on va lancer un forum en anglais pour s'entraîner, faut juste trouver un prof pour nous soigner

it's cool to see how good are uriders in english, i saw the board in a shop and for me it seemed really big and very wide, but for sure this kind of board rocks in really light wind conditions.
If i d buy a sup windsurf board, i d look for the Kona's boards because they are really efficient in light wind condition and are versatile cause you can use those boards till the limit of the ability of your usual wave board.
After, it depends of your weight but i know a big and tall guy who only preaches with Kona board because of his weight.
I witnessed once when he was using the new kona 9,5 TT while i was using a 73l xwave board and a 4,7 sail !!!
The best thing to do is to try, ask to your local shop if it deals Kona or AHD he might have a test board !!!
Hope i have helped you.
Take care

I have already tried sea lion. This is really original shape only for lighwind waveriding. For my weight it was not easy to make correct curves... but i think that one need to sail many time in order to handle with this board. Best would be to try it!

Matal,

Kauli is apparently riding a quad fins swallow tail board with wingers in Cabo Verde these days and spectators are impressed with his speed and surfing. Kauli's popularity is so high he might be able to get everyone to try quad fins instead of tri fins?

Time will tell.

kauli would ride a house door with style and speed... maybe the next waveriding trend?
