La nouvelle est tombée par voie de communiqué PWA et c’est une nouvelle fois une annulation pour la PWA de Marignane. Cette fois ci c’est visiblement la FFVoile qui est venue jouer les troubles faits invoquant des problèmes de calendrier… (?) Les raisons restent vagues pour le moment, la PWA n’ayant pas détaillé les raisons profondes. Il est décidement bien compliqué d’organiser une épreuve chaque année sur ce spot du JaI pourtant tellement propice à faire une belle compétition.
Le communiqué PWA:
The 2023 Marignane PWA World Cup will be rolled back to springtime in 2024 due to complex scheduling problems for 2023 that we were not able to resolve.

After input from the FFV (French Sailing Federation), the planned dates in May for the Marignane event were no longer possible, so it had been intended to schedule the event for later in 2023.
However, after further consultation with the FFV, the event sponsors and the local organiser, a suitable date, with good chances of decent wind strengths, could not be agreed that suited all partners, so in the interests of the long term success of the event, it has been decided to focus instead on a successful event in the first half of 2024.
We will continue to bring you further calendar updates as the year progresses, but in the meantime we look forward to seeing you at Lake Garda in a few weeks.
